AZPPO invites you to an evening of fun, networking, and information with your fellow Pest Professionals.

The topic this month is:

"Drug Screening and Medical Marijuana Laws"

Presented by Sonja Hoppe

Sonja Hoppe is the Laboratory Administrator and Vice President of Southwest Laboratories. In this position, she is responsible for the day to day operations of a SAMHSA certified toxicology laboratory. In her technical role, she serves as a laboratory Certifying Scientist and is responsible for guaranteeing the reliability and accuracy of Laboratories’ drug testing results. Ms. Hoppe has testified, on numerous occasions, as an expert witness in drug and alcohol testing cases.

Sonja has over twenty-five years of experience in toxicology. She began this career in 1985 at the toxicology department of St. Luke’s Medical Center in Phoenix analyzing routine patient specimens for therapeutic drugs and overdose cases from the emergency room.

In 1988, when the drug free workplace act was passed, Sonja Hoppe and a colleague founded Southwest Laboratories to meet the burgeoning needs of private and public sector drug free workplace programs. Today, Southwest Laboratories provides drug and alcohol testing services to clients throughout the United States, and is the only federally certified (SAMHSA) drug testing laboratory in Arizona.

Sonja continues her passion to help employers to keep drugs out of the workplace by assisting clients with information, education and training to support a strong drug-free workplace program.
