AZPPO welcomes New Director Mark Killian at their annual membership meeting on July 9, 2015
Mark Killian is the New Director of The Office of Pest Management. He is a native of Arizona and former Speaker of the House ofRepresentatives. Mark addressed all in attendance and laid forth his vision for OPM – Office of Pest Management.
His plans include the final move blending OPM with The Department of Agriculture. OPM funds would be set in a “trust account” which would protect our funds from any sweep. If you will remember in the past our funds have been swept.
In addition our statues would become a part of Article 3 (Agriculture Statutes). Mark indicated there are several areas in which agriculture and pest management have commonalities, one being most of us are small businesses. Mark confirmed that he has a pro-business and less government approach.
Vince Craig will work directly with Mark. The Arizona Pest Professional Organization would like to thank Mark for his time and for introducing himself at our meeting.
